Balance between business-minded and mindfully holistic
After I left my career at Microsoft, I never imagined that I would use my business degree again. Wanting to run out of Building 36, leave the corporate world behind and never look back, I transitioned to what I thought would be a simpler life as a yoga instructor.
And it was. For a while. But something was missing. My business mindset was feeling deprived of stimulation.
So I started my own holistic health coaching business, helped my parents' business get seen online, worked at three different start ups, streamlined processes across multiple business locations, captured and analyzed wellness program engagement data, built local and international retreats from the ground up, facilitated yoga school modules on the Business of Yoga, and kept teaching classes every week.
Whew! *takes a breath and sips some wine*
Showing up professionally and mindfully, with a little bit of silliness, has been my formula for freedom. Thinking outside the box, to create unique and authentic experiences, websites, and relationships is what I not only love doing, but I thrive doing it!
Why I love what I do...
I get to ask the tough questions. The ones that uncover reality vs. the story that plays on repeat in our minds. I get to help eliminate excuses. The obstacles that hold us back from going toward what we really want. I get to go behind the scenes. The place where depth and understanding reside. I get to navigate toward curiosity. The collaboration between non-judgment and compassion. I get to witness liberation. The heightened vibration of making a unique set of rules made by you, for you.
I love to get lost. To get lost in thought. To get lost in intentional conversation. To lose track of time in creative and meditative activities. Painting. Mala making. Coloring. Writing. To lose myself in physical activities. Yoga. Walking. Kayaking. Dancing. Bicycling. Hiking. Backpacking. Traveling. To lose the box that I create around my expectations and create my own rules. Through getting lost, I find myself.
